My Babcia’s cooking brought the family together. With Babcio, I want to bring some of that warmth to your kitchen.
From the founder
There was a real Babcia.
I grew up half Polish, and some of my happiest memories are around my Babcia’s cooking. Her food brought our family together. It wasn’t just about eating. It was about care, warmth, conversation, and spending time with the people you love.
I started Babcio because I believe everyone deserves to experience that feeling, even if they didn’t grow up with someone teaching them how to cook.
And the name?
Babcia is Polish for grandmother.
We call her Babcio. Said with love, of course.
Then you’re in your own kitchen.
It’s been a long day. You’re standing at the fridge. There’s food in there, you just need an idea.
That’s where Babcio comes in: first an idea, then the ingredients, then the steps. Right until dinner is on the table.
What stays with you
Next time, something feels familiar.
Babcio takes it one step at a time. Read it again if you need to. Nobody’s rushing you.
Like giving the spices a moment in the fat before adding the tomatoes. In butter chicken, Babcio explains why: the fat brings out their flavour. A small tip you can use the next time you make a curry.
There’s room at the table.
